 An engaging and energetic performer, Clara’s ageless originality shines, as she holds court with her audiences. Her piano and keyboard artistry is unique with a full system of bass lines, chording, riffs, and fills that complement and often harmonize or do counterpoint with her vocals. Her voice is expressive and honors her namesake with wide-range intonations.
Clara Landau (a.k.a. the Lady Wolf) is a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and piano teacher ... an inventive and gracious artist, who loves soulful blues, eclectic jazz, and torchy ballads. Working solo or with a band and acclaimed "a natural", her stage career began as a young child in New England. The discerning listener can hear subtle touches of Clara’s classical training. She has composed many dozens of songs and masterfully performs her arrangements of favorite covers. Her style and technique are her own, as she sings, plays keyboard, and does keyboard bass lines.
Drawing from her life experiences and the energies she finds in nature, she composes songs in the genres of jazz, blues, ballads, latinesque, and light classical. With several CDs and a rich background on the stage and in the recording studio, Clara also has a Ph.D. in holistic wellness and puts her energies to humanitarian causes that help animals, environment, and prison inmates; she has taken her music into a maximum-security facility.
And of her music, Clara says "Blues is closest to my heart, though I also need the excitement of jazz and the sultry feeling of ballads. Straddling the genres makes me feel complete." Clara also says that "Music is the universal language, humor is the best medicine, and compassion is the finest emotion".
