Are you hearing the other music? The Improv/Underground is Nashville’s new, monthly house concert series dedicated to presenting some of Nashville’s progressive and energetic improvisers.
Hosted in an historic and uniquely intimate listening room, listeners can relax and experience an uninhibited display of musical messages through swing, grooves, free time and all in between.
Recent events at Improv/Underground have included budding composers and instrumentalists such as alto saxophonist Reagan Mitchell, tenor saxophonist Chris West, spoken word artist Tracy Pendegrass and pianist Paul Horton.
On July 25, the series will feature the young and gifted percussionist Marcus Hill (student of drum master Chester Thompson), composer and altoist Reagan Mitchell, and bassist Greg Bryant. The Improv/Underground is hosted by Greg Bryant, Kandes Dungey and Teree McCormick. The series is held every fourth Sunday afternoon from 4-6p.m. All ages are welcomed and patrons may enjoy their own food and beverages. A minimum $5 cash donation is accepted at the door and reservations are available by emailing watchmanmusicgroup@hotmail.com or by calling 615-429-5429.
