Nine48jazz is a house concert series at 948 35th Ave. North, 37209 (just off Albion St., near the TSU campus). The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the acoustics are great. It's BYOB and BYOF (though the house does provide popcorn!) The series is organized and run by Kandes Dungey and was created as a memorial to Dungey's grandfather and father, the late pioneer restauranteur, Charles H. Dungey, Sr. (owner of Deborah's restaurant) and the late master jazz bassist and vocalist, Charles H. Dungey, Jr. It's a great series, and the elder Dungeys would be proud.
