| 22 July
2010 | | 6:30 pm CDT | Jazz @ Bull & Whistle Pub Scene 1: A spiffy coffee shop in the Village, near Cotton Music.
Dramatis personae:
A twenty-something goth girl (GG) whose makeup would clog your aorta.
The Dude (TD): a lad of 19 who desperately needs to eat more fat and whose hollow, vacant eyes are awash in Ketamine.
GG> Wanna try something new this weekend?
TD> Whatcha got?
GG>There's this amazing old Mill in Lebanon that houses the Bull & Whistle Pub. We can get dinner for two with a bottle of red for $30.00. Free parking. Since all the beautiful people are over in the Gulch, it's free from stylishness. The band plays jazz standards from 6:30 on.
TD> Who's on first?
GG> The Glenn Martin Quartet and they play tunes old
enough to, well, it's like, prehistoric. You will hear Glenn, piano & trombone, Hugh Bramhall, drums, Ryan Williams, guitar, and Wayne Renardson, acoustic bass. Other jazz musicians are invited to sit in. A setlist is available from Wayne via email wayne@renardson.org.
